What Is a CoolSculpting Cycle?
CoolSculpting treatments are broken down by the area in which they are utilized. It can often become confusion as to the difference between a treatment and a cycle, but generally, it is best to think of these in more realistic terms.
Treatment vs Cycle
For instance, an individual may receive treatment on their belly while also receiving treatment for their arms all on the same day. These two separate areas warrant a distinction of two separate cycles, even though both of these cycles have been completed in one single treatment session.
A cycle is considered to be only a part of a treatment. This can often explain the difference in number between the amount of treatments an individual needs versus the amount of cycles they require.
How Many CoolSculpting Treatments Will I Need?
Specific recommendations vary on a patient-by-patient basis. This has to do with a variety of factors, including:
- The number of areas the patient wishes to treat
- The amount of fat located in those areas
- How well the person’s body responds to treatment
At Mystic Valley Dermatology Associates, we approach a new CoolSculpting case by dividing the treatment area into quadrants. This is especially common for treatments of the stomach. Generally, an individual will require at least 2 or 3 full treatments before they begin to see desired results, though some may be satisfied after only one treatment session. This can include any number of cycles depending upon how many areas of the body are being targeted.
